This Privacy Policy explains how GuideOn Learning ("GuideOn", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the GuideOn mobile application (the "App"). GuideOn is an educational app used by students and institutions to access learning-related information and services.

Information We Collect

Depending on how your institution uses GuideOn, the App may collect or process the following information:

• Account and login information, such as username, password, student ID, admission number, and authentication token.
• Student profile information, such as full name, phone number, WhatsApp number, email address, date of birth, address, place, parent or guardian names, class details, and profile image.
• Educational and institutional records, such as attendance, exam results, activities, study materials, notifications, class information, and prayer attendance where enabled by the institution.
• Feedback you submit through the App.
• Notification information, including Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens used to send push notifications.
• Technical information, such as device type, app version, server connection information, and basic logs needed to operate and secure the App.

How We Use Information

We use the information collected through the App to:

• Authenticate users and provide secure access to student accounts.
• Display student profile, attendance, results, activities, notifications, prayer attendance, and study material information.
• Send important academic, administrative, and service-related notifications.
• Receive and respond to feedback or support requests.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, improve, and secure the App and related services.
• Comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and institutional requirements.

Permissions Used by the App

GuideOn requires internet access to connect to our servers and provide app features. The App may also use notification services to deliver updates and alerts. GuideOn does not request access to your precise location, camera, microphone, contacts, or SMS messages unless a future version clearly introduces a feature that requires it.

Storage and Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user information. Authentication tokens and related login data may be stored securely on your device using platform-provided secure storage. Data transmitted between the App and our servers is sent over HTTPS where supported. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

• With the school, tuition center, institution, or administrator responsible for the student account.
• With trusted service providers who help us operate the App, such as hosting, backend infrastructure, and Firebase notification services.
• When required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, GuideOn, or others.
• With your consent or at your direction.

Third-Party Services

GuideOn uses third-party services, including Firebase services provided by Google, for app functionality such as push notifications. These services may process limited technical and notification-related data according to their own privacy practices. Children's Privacy

GuideOn may be used by students, including minors, through accounts created or authorized by their institution, parent, or guardian. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information for advertising or unrelated purposes. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child's information has been provided without proper authorization, please contact us so we can review the request with the relevant institution.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the App, maintain institutional records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may depend on the policies of the relevant institution. When information is no longer required, we will delete it or de-identify it where reasonably possible.

Your Choices and Rights

You may contact your institution or GuideOn support to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, subject to applicable law and institutional record requirements. You can disable push notifications through your device settings, but doing so may prevent you from receiving important updates.

International Processing

Your information may be processed and stored on servers located in India or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred and processed outside your state, province, or country of residence, subject to applicable law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after an updated Privacy Policy is posted means you accept the updated policy.
